1. This is the third part of a 3-semester sequence in calculus for students of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering.  The text is Multi-Variable Calculus Early Transcendentals (Sixth Edition University at Buffalo) by James Stewart.

2. We will cover Chapters 12 though 16, except that we will skip sections 15.9 and 16.10

3. Homework problems will be given in each lecture, and will be collected weekly.  A small number of the problems selected from each assignment will be graded.

4. Letter grades (plus and minus) will be given, based upon homework and exams. There will be three exams, each during the class time period: see the lecture schedule for dates and material covered. Homework will count 25% and the exams will each count 25% towards the course total point score of 100 points.

5. Homework format: use 8.5 x 11 paper (no ragged edges). Label each problem by section and problem numbers (e.g. 12.1 # 2). Print your name on the upper right corner of the first page, and staple the upper left corner.  Late homework policy: No penalty if turned in by 9:00 next morning. 10% per day thereafter.

6. Makeup exam policy: makeup exams will be given, if the circumstances were "beyond one's control": student should be able to provide documentation.

7. My office is in the Mathematics building, room 226, and office hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 10.

8. The website is: www.math.buffalo.edu/~hassard/241/.   There you will find the list of assigned problems and other information.
