Please be sure to bring the candy mark-recapture data from Lab 5. Also download
the Chi squared work sheet from the web site. We will go over this
in recitation this week. Also, there will be a quiz
in recitation this week. Please review your notes on resource
allocation plants, paying particular attention to how to interpret R/S
and RE data, and how to calculate and interpret t-tests. |

can either download a 6/pg version or a 3/pg version -- see recitation

Sept 29-Oct 3 |
To turn in at the beginning of lab, you should generate a null
hypothesis about how resources are allocated in the comparison of
parasitize vs. unparasitized Solidago. See page one of the lab
handout. For the lab report, you will need a total of 6 nulls, as
discussed in recitation and the lab handout. |
Sept. 15-18. | Dr. Coffroth will be out of town from Monday through Thursday of this week. If you need to contact me, I will be checking my email once a day. THERE will be a RECITATION on Friday, Sept. 19. |
Sept 9 | Dr. Coffroth's Office Hours will be from 12:30-1:30 today, Tuesday. There are TA office hours in H212 from 11:00-2:00. If you need to see me and can not make this time, please email me to set up an appointment. I apologize for any inconvenience. |
Sept 8-12 | You must write out a NULL
hypothesis for Lab 3 -- Plant Idenification and Population Sampling.
This should be the null hypothesis that the lab exercise is testing.
This will be due at the start of lab. Lab reports should be full reports this week -- due at the start of your lab Read lab handout before lab! Bring a clipboard and binoculars to lab if you have them When you down load lab 3, notice that it has three parts -- you will need all three. I highly recommend that you print out AT LEAST parts 2 and 3 on a University printer Anyone having problems downloading labs or working with Excel should see Dr. Coffroth or a TA |

August 25 | LABS MEET THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES!!
If you missed lab during the first week, contact Dr. Coffroth as soon as possible. No Labs on Monday, Sept. 1, BUT Monday lab must attend another
lab session during the week of Sept. 1. If you cannot attend another lab,
you MUST contact Dr. Coffroth for the assignment by Tuesday, Sept.
2. |
Nov 17-21 | Remember that ABSTRACTS/REFERENCES for your GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE presentation are due in lab the week of Nov. 18-22. The abstract should consist of a two-three line summary of the group presentation and a summary of what you will present. The references should include at least 2 sources, with one being from the primary literature (i.e. a journal article). The others can be URL from websites. Contact Dr. Coffroth or TA with any questions. |
