Targeting RNA with Small Molecules and Lovin' It |
Welcome! Our laboratory is generally interested in using chemical microarray technologies to interrogate poorly understood biological processes. These research efforts require skills in organic synthesis, biophysical chemistry, molecular biology, and medicinal chemistry. Specific research interests are currently focused on developing an understanding of how to target RNA with small molecules. We are applying the results of these studies towards treating a variety of diseases that are mediated by RNA, including Sickle Cell Disease and Inherited Breast Cancer. Additionally, we are designing and testing new antibacterials that evade known modes of antibiotic resistance. We always are interested in having new talented and driven co-workers join our research group. Interested parties should contact Prof. Disney via email or preferably post. |
